Herding

Herding is a sport that has been developed to test the workability of herding breeds to see if they are fit to function. ANKC has a Herding Instinct Certificate that dogs must first achieve in order to progress to the higher levels. There are then 2 test levels available and once the final level is gained you are able to move to the A, B and C level courses - which involve moving stock through a number of obstacles in different environments. Traditionally sheep are available to work, but sometimes cattle and ducks are used to test on.
