Flyball
Flyball is often called drag racing for dogs - its a high adrenaline sport where 2 teams of 4 dogs have a relay race against each other. Each dog must jump over a set of 4 hurdles, trigger the box and retrieve a ball back over the 4 hurdles before the next dog in the team can run. All 4 dogs must successfully complete their run with no early passes or dropped balls. The fastest team to complete this wins. Flyball is open to all breeds - if you are interested in starting this fun and crazy sport with your dog please check out the Australian Flyball Association for a list of clubs near you. Flyball is a great team sport for you and your dog.
Dawnus currently has 2 racing dogs and several others at various levels of training hoping to join the racing ranks soon. Fly has been lucky enough to win back to back Division 9 National Championships with the Norwest Thunderdogs.
